EThames Graduate School has received confirmation that the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education has scheduled us for a review of Educational Oversight during 2012.

University of Bradford Graduation Ceremony - 7th December 2011.

EThames Graduate School wishes to offer our warmest congratulations to all students graduating on the University of Bradford MSc and BSc Courses in Health and Social Care on 7th December 2011, following their successful studies at EThames. They attended the University Graduation Ceremony in Bradford alongside on-campus students. Our students were graduating in courses ranked in the top 8 in the UK in this subject area.

Three members of EThames Health and Social Care Faculty were invited to join the Vice Chancellor's procession as special guests of the University in recognition of the close partnership between Bradford University and EThames Graduate School. Students received their Degree Certificates from Sue Kershaw (deputy Vice Chancellor) with Professor Chris Cleary the Vice Chancellor and the Lord Mayor of Bradford. Our students were well-supported by their family and friends, many travelling from overseas to attend this ceremony. Our students also received a warm welcome by our friends and fellow on-campus students at the University. All the students' hard work during the courses was rewarded by an unforgettable afternoon of formality and fun, tears and triumphs, learning and laughter!! In short, lifelong memories !

Students were keen to thank the staff at EThames for their constant support; in turn we, the staff, are proud of the high standard of work demonstrated by our students' excellent results. Well done one and all, and we wish all of you the very best of luck for what, we are sure, will be a bright and successful future!!

Sunderland Graduation Ceremony – 1st December 2011.

Almost 200 EThames students supported by family and friends attended the University of Sunderland Graduation Winter Awards Ceremony on Thursday 1st December. The students certainly did the college proud at the event, and one of our own MBA Students, Varun Singh did an excellent job in giving a Vote of Thanks on behalf of all the students during the ceremony. In 2011 over 800 students at EThames Graduate School have succeeded in gaining their MBA from the University of Sunderland thanks to the excellent teaching and support of all the EThames staff.

The event took place in the famous Stadium of Light in Sunderland, home to the local 'Premier Division' football club. The Degrees were awarded by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Peter Fidler MBA, and the University of Sunderland's Chancellor, Steve Cram MBE, the world famous middle distance runner and former graduate of the University. Professor Fidler mentioned the University's significant partnership with EThames Graduate School during his speech. In addition to conferring the degrees to EThames and other University students during the ceremony, an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration was awarded to Sir Michael Darrington.

Many EThames' students had travelled to Sunderland in coaches arranged by the College. After the ceremony there was tea and then collection of the photographs of our new Graduates in their Gowns and Mortar Boards that will be cherished and proudly displayed by our students and their families. The EThames party then headed off for a tour of the University campus before the long trip back to London. A memorable day…..

EThames launches new School of English at Study World (5 – 7th September 2011).

EThames School of English announces new programmes at Study World, the UK's largest English Language event for international agents organised by English UK (EThames is an English UK member).

Since 2005 EThames has been teaching English to students at all levels, particularly those continuing on to further academic studies at the College. The new range of courses are designed for anyone aged 18 or over wishing to visit London to learn or improve their English Language, for anything from 2 weeks to 11 months! See the School of English web pages for more details of general English, business English, exam preparation and one to one or tailored English language courses for organisations and businesses.

Cambridge ESOL Examinations Centre (2nd September 2011).

We are delighted to announce that EThames Graduate School has now been fully approved as a Cambridge ESOL Exam Centre.

We will shortly be announcing details of tests including Computer Based Tests, for various Cambridge ESOL examinations.

EThames Graduate School re-accreditation by the BAC (28th July 2011).

EThames is pleased that the BAC's Accreditation Committee has approved the re-accreditation of EThames Graduate School. The period of accreditation runs until 31 May 2015.

More MBA successes at EThames (17 July 2011).

587 EThames students have so far gained their highly prized MBA from the University of Sunderland this year, with 3 students gaining Distinctions and 56 gaining Merit awards. University of Sunderland Business courses are ranked 14th in the UK by the Guardian's 2011 UK University League Table for business courses, so these outstanding students will be among those most highly sought after by employers. This is also a significant achievement because all EThames students are assessed in the same way as the on-campus students at Sunderland University. EThames and on-campus students study the same course syllabus, and both submit the same assessments which are set and marked by the University staff in Sunderland. The next graduation ceremony is in December 2011 at the Sunderland Stadium of Light, but this time it will take place indoors due to the British winter weather!

University of Sunderland Graduation Ceremony (11 July 2011).

EThames students mixed with their on-campus counterparts on 11th July at the University of Sunderland Graduation Ceremony at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, the home of the town's famous football team. Many proud families travelled from around the world to see their son or daughter receive their award from the University's Chancellor Steve Cram and Vice Chancellor Professor Peter Fidler. EThames students graduated with degrees in BSc (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management, BA (Hons) Business Management, BA(Hons) Accounting & Financial Management as well as MBA awards. The EThames Principal and Director were special guests of the University at this happy event.

Another successful academic year at EThames Graduate School. (July 2011).

A total of 1700 students successfully passed their courses this year at EThames. We look forward to seeing many more EThames students at forthcoming graduation ceremonies at the University of Bradford (Health & Social Care programmes), University of Sunderland (Business, Finance and Tourism/Hospitality programmes) and the University of Greenwich (Computing & IT programmes) in the coming months.

Almost all students who complete their HND or Level 7 programmes at EThames choose to stay with EThames for the 'top-up' courses to achieve a bachelors or Masters degree. The student satisfaction level at EThames from regular surveys remains at over 90%.

British Council Accredits EThames School of English (4th May 2011).

EThames has been accredited by the British Council under the Accreditation UK scheme. The Accreditation expires on 31st March 2016.

EThames Graduate School Key Speaker Programme 2011

Recently, EThames embarked upon the start of its 2011 Key Speaker Programme, a series of breakfast meeting, dinners and mini-lectures taking place throughout the year for middle and senior executives under the Executive Education and Corporate Development banner.

One of the main aims of the Key Speaker Programme is to bring together like minded people to listen to some of the key issues of the day and simultaneously offer an opportunity for some high level networking to transpire. It is also a way of offering EThames MBA students (and others) a chance to hear from distinguished speakers and take part in the interactive discussions that these Key Speaker events generate.

Presentation on the EU & Erasmus Mundus

EThames Graduate Schools provides an excellent range of extra-curricular lectures, both for its academic students and as part of the Corporate and Executive Development Programme. The latest free lecture introduced the European Union and the possibilities for EThames students who may want to study or work in this important area in the future.

On the 11th of November 2010, Dominic Brett, the Head of Public Diplomacy for European Commission Representation in the UK, gave a presentation to EThames students. This started with an introduction on the European Union and moved onto discus the Erasmus Mundus programme, which allows non-EU citizens a chance to study in Europe, along with possibilities for internships within the European Commission.

During 2010 EThames Graduate School has not only invested time and money in improving the existing facilities that we offer our students but also in extending our infrastructure. We now offer our students a multi-campus environment plus the resources to complement our quest for educational excellence and innovation.

The EThames India Campus, located in the heart of Hyderabad, will open in January 2011. EThames Graduate School hosted a Study UK Workshop at their Canary Wharf Campus on 28th May 2010.

Sue Hindley, Chair of Study UK, gave a welcome address to 15 agents from Latin America. The agents then had the opportunity to meet and talk with representatives from 12 member Colleges of Study UK. There were breaks for refreshments and lunch, where agents and educators could mingle more and get to know each other better.
